MKP leadership elections

On December 8, the MKP-USA Council met by phone bridge and held its elections for Chair and Vice Chair, each for a two year term. Elections are pending for MKP-I positions.

“With great pleasure,” said George Daranyi, chairman of The ManKind Project , “I announce that David Bauerly has been elected Chairman of MKP-USA, and Bob Oser has been elected Vice Chairman of that body. Please join me in congratulating, blessing and supporting these two men.”  Daranyi also want honored David Kaar, who stood for the position of Chairman.”

“This is a major step in the separation of MKP-USA from MKP,” said Daranyi. “It signals a very significant shift in our institution and culture.  I look forward to working with these men to build a stronger base from which to serve our centers and men across the globe.”

Election of MKP International leaders will take place at the 2o10 annual meeting this February at Glen Ivy in California.

Nominations are now being accepted for MKP0I Vice Chairman, Shadow Committee Chair, Structure Committee Chairman, and six  MKP-I Executive Committee members.

The current Structure Chair, David Kaar,  is charged with seeking nominations for these offices and publishing the nominees to the project.  “Upon the adoption of the new governance proposals at the annual meeting,” Kaar said, “the title ManKind Project Council may be changed to the ManKind Project International Council.  For the moment, I use MKP-I to distinguish it from recently authorized MKP-USA.”

The Vice Chairman is a voting member of the MKP-I Council and of the MKP Executive Committee and is elected for a two year term (2010 – 2012).

The Shadow Chair and Structure Chair are nonvoting members of the MKP-I Council and serve one year terms.

A Recording Secretary will be appointed by the MKPI Chair as a nonvoting member; interested parties are invited to apply as well.

“If the proposed restructuring of MKP-I is approved the Executive Committee of MKP-I,”” Karr added, “six ExCom members will be elected by the MKP-I Council, which will include two Outside the U.S. region representatives, two US region representatives, and two constituency representatives. These men are generally expected to be current MKP-I Council members, but any experienced and qualified Project member is encouraged to stand for the positions.”

Kaar asked to be contacted by any MKP member in the world who wished to stand for election to the Executive Committee.

He noted that the current MKP- Chair and Vice Chair will continue to serve on the MKP-I ExCom along with Executive Director Carl Greisser and Founding President Rich Tosi. If the restructuing is approved, there will no longer be a separate International Vice Chairman. Also, there will no longer be a Center Council as a governance component of MKP-I, so there will not be an MKP-I Center Council Chairman.

“Self nominations are welcome,” Karr said. “If you nominate another man, first please secure his permission and confirm his willingness to serve in the position if elected. Nominees will be contacted with requests for background information, which will be disseminated to the MKP-I Council and other appropriate venues prior to the annual meeting.”

David Kaar cam be reached through the website of his coaching company – is a deeply personal issue that everyone decides for himself. Sometimes the price is high, sometimes low. But this is not very important for life. Life is an interesting thing. And the price on Viagra – too.
